Midfield

Matt Thomas has settled back into the field through no fault of his own but more because of Jackson's return. Funnily enough, Deledio's absence has emphasised his importance to the team. Goalkicker Dusty seems a much better bet than half back sweet Dusty. Vlastuin is making a move along with Conca. Based on the second half against Brisbane Grigg and Shane Edwards are top five players, but I'd like to see backed up for a few weeks. Ellis stays more or less the same. The depth players seem to be sorted themselves out with Arnot and, hopefully, Lennon to emerge from that pack before the end of the year. Knights loses his injury protecting ranking and falls back, which makes me very sad.

Forwards

Who'd of thunk it? Ben Griffiths leaps and bounds over Ty Vickery. Lloyd and Gordon shuffle up because of game time. Depth types more or less stay the same because us Sydneysiders never get to see Coburg games.

Backs

Like Deledio, Rance's importance has been rubber stamped by his absence. If Morris can repeat his Rioli performance of last year, he will belong in the 'best small defender' conversations. Astbury's stock is rising along with Petterd's. Chaplin, Newman for the moment look like the game has got quicker than then over the summer.

Rucks

Same again. Maric has a fight on his hands to retain that number one ranking.
